Spirit Walk

Holy Spirit kicks off the school year with Spirit Walk, a fundraiser designed to excercise our bodies so children may exercise their minds. Families walk with their children, some years eat a picnic lunch together, and attend a pot luck dinner that evening. It's a great opportunity to reunite the school family in the fall as well as meet new families.

Prior to the walk, students gather pledges. Community businesses donate generously for prizes which include mountain bikes, $100, $50 and $25 gift certificates, radios, iPods, and Bonus Bucks. These prizes are awarded for most money raised, most laps and most sponsors.

Funds are designated each year for a specific purpose. In the past, students and families have walked for . . .

* Playground equipment
* New desks
* Performing and visual arts equipment and supplies
* Classroom enhancements

Your gift

Tuition alone does not cover all that encompasses a Holy Spirit education. We continue to rely on generous gifts from each parent, alumnus and friend. Your gifts will help us continue our recognized excellence and even surpass it!

Spirit Walk 2007

This year's event took place Friday, September 21. After lunch at school, students walked or were bused to Lion's Park for the walk.

Pot luck. Friday evening, after the walk, families gathered at the Holy Spirit parish center, 200 44th Street South at 6:00 p.m.

The school provided the chicken. Families brought hot dishes, salads and desserts.

We can hardly wait for next year!
