How is giving to the Endowment Trust different from other donations?

Contributions to the Endowment Trust are managed differently from other gifts to Holy Spirit School. One deposit after another, the fund grows, but the principal is never touched. The school uses only the interest earned from conservative investments of the principal each year.

What is it used for?

The proceeds of the trust are used for two primary purposes:

Provide financial aid to families who need it. The proceeds of the Monsignor Gluszek fund are used exclusively for this purpose.

Meet special needs of the school. A recent example of this is the all-school phone system which ensures instant communication between classrooms and the office, thus providing another layer of security and protection for all students. The newly completed computer lab was also funded by the endowment trust. Each class makes at least a weekly visit to the computer lab where they learn and refine keyboarding skills and learn to use common software.

Some gifts to the trust have been designated for other specific uses. Holy Spirit always honors the givers' wishes.
