Administrative and teacher assistants
Anna Beckman, Secretary
If secretary Anna Beckman doesn’t know the answer to your question, probably no one does. The only thing she doesn’t seem to know is exactly how many years ago she began working at Sts. Peter and Paul School, one of the predecessors of Holy Spirit. It was “35 or so years ago,” she says. Prior to her time at Sts. Peter and Paul/Holy Spirit, Anna worked in a different secretarial position for ten years. About working at the school she says, “It’s been a great experience with many lessons learned each day,” and she enjoys watching the “progression in life of many wonderful families and their children, and now their children’s children are attending the school.”
Helen Boysun, Secretary
The other half of the secretarial team is Helen Boysun. She also served for many years as a teacher aide. Though trained in beauty school, she did typing at the Diocese of Great Falls-Billings for five years before beginning her work at Holy Spirit (then Blessed Trinity) in 1986. Helen says, “Having had four children attend and graduate from here and witnessing the benefits and special gifts they have received from a faith-filled education makes me never want to leave. I am truly blessed to be able to continue to work here at Holy Spirit School.”
Shani Baker, Teacher aide
Shani Baker began her position as playground manager and teacher aide in 2006. She gained a wealth of experience working with children during the twelve years she ran her own child care facility. In fact, loving to be with children is one of the reasons she came to Holy Spirit. The other reason was related: she wanted a job that allowed her to be with her own three children before and after school. When she’s not in the copy room surrounded by five-foot high stacks of paper and churning out teacher requests on the copy machine, and when she’s not on the playground acting as mediator, wiping tears, and keeping children safe, Shani can be found at the White Sox games or spending quality time with her family. She says: “I like making people happy!”
Anne Vanatta, Teacher aide
Anne Vannatta joined the Holy Spirit staff in 2006 and works as a classroom aide. Retired from thirty years teaching in the local public school system, Anne says she sees working at Holy Spirit as “an opportunity to enrich the lives of students while being enriched myself.” She enjoys the “wonderful opportunity to work in a Christ-centered community.” The mother of two former Holy Spirit students and great-aunt of two current students, Anne is a published poet. She has also written two books, numerous short stories and several books of poetry. On occasion, she pursues another art form, engaging herself in community theater activities.
