Linda Erickson, Tiny Tots teacher, is a life-long resident of Great Falls except for her college years and three years of teaching. Her three daughters, ranging in age from 3 to 8 years, are enrolled in Holy Spirit School. Being a product of Catholic education, providing this type of education for her children has always been Linda’s goal. She and her husband appreciate and believe in the importance of teaching values and the Catholic faith along with other subjects. Linda taught 2nd grade for seven years at Holy Spirit before her oldest child was born. She says: “I feel like the Holy Spirit has led me back to this school family. I was blessed with being able to stay at home with my kids for the last 8 years and now feel that I have been given a fantastic opportunity to be a teacher here at Holy Spirit School again and I still get to spend a lot of my time with my girls. I feel like I have the best of both worlds and I am very thankful for that. This place has always been a second home for me and now I get to be an even bigger part of that. I love it!
Mary Wingerter, preschool teacher, holds a B.S. in Child Development from Montana State University. After working three years at a local pre-school, she came to Holy Spirit in 1991 as a teacher in Extended Care, taking over the next year as director. Since 1998 she has taught Tiny Tots (3-year-olds), adding Pre-kindergarten (4-year-olds) to her duties in 2003. Five of Mary’s children have graduated from Holy Spirit; one still graces the classrooms and halls of our school. “I love teaching at Holy Spirit,” Mary says, “because I get to share my faith, my prayers and my values with my students. We have such awesome families at our school. Coming to work is fun – every day!”
Alisa Hale was a parent of Holy Spirit students before she joined the staff as a teacher. With a B.A. in Education from the University of Montana, she worked as a math tutor and 3rd grade teacher in a Great Falls public school. From there she came to Holy Spirit and began to don many different hats, wearing each as well as the other. She began her career at our school in 1999 teaching 2nd grade. The following year she began teaching 1st grade, loving her team work with Mrs. Vlasie. Since 2004, Alisa has blessed kindergarteners with her talents. She says she enjoys our school family community, especially seeing everyone gathered for Friday morning mass.
New to Holy Spirit in 2007, all-day kindergarten teacher Erin Voeller has a B.S. in elementary education and spent thirteen years teaching kindergarten in rural Greenfield, MT. Hoping to find a similar setting, she says Holy Spirit School is it! “[At Holy Spirit] people take the time to get to know one another. There is a real sense of community and commitment to our kids.” Cross stitch and quilting are among her out of school activities. She also likes camping, gardening, and bike riding.
